The program provides hands-on training in a wide range of agricultural activities, with a focus on developing leadership and entrepreneurship skills among 20 young people, particularly those with Dis-Abilities. The program aims to create economic opportunities and promote food security in marginalized communities, providing support and opportunities for Persons with Dis-Abilities to succeed in the agricultural sector and promote inclusion and equal opportunities. With a goal to expand the impact by partnering with other organizations to make use of 10 hectares of land MCF has access to.
Zakhele Re-Usable Sanitary Pad
Modern Community Foundation conducts reusable sanitary pads drives at different schools in rural areas. In our quest to eradicate period poverty in our country, in partnership with various international and local partners, we have provided access to the Zakhele Re- usable Sanitary Towels to over 100 000 young South African girls and women, keeping the girl child in school and empowering vulnerable women. The Zakhele Re-Usable Pad which is SABS approved aims to present an opportunity for less fortunate girls and women to have access to an affordable and safe to use products.
IAMME
The organization supports the LGBTQIAP+ community through various programs such as I AM ME, our collaboration with Pride Cape Town and Pride in Noordgesig. Modern Community Foundation believes in the transformative power of inclusion, breaking down barriers, creating workplaces that celebrate diversity for Persons with Disabilities, LGBTQIAP+ and the youth, fostering an environment where every voice is heard and celebrated.
Adopt-A-Family
The Adopt-a-Family program is focused on providing essential support to vulnerable families, including child-headed households, LGBTQIA+ families, and families with Persons with Disabilities, to address food insecurity. Modern Community Foundation aims to improve vulnerable communities through food security and kids' fun day- a project that strives to put a smile on marginalised children's faces.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Workshops
The Modern Community Foundation offers workshops to educate individuals and organizations on creating inclusive environments and addressing issues of discrimination and bias creating inclusive environments. Addressing the challenges faced by youth, Persons with Disabilities, and vulnerable communities, we aspire to create lasting change and leave a meaningful legacy in the communities we engage with. This program promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion to create a more just and equitable society, while managing potential risks.
